Leapster explorer is the latest from Leapfrog family series available only this June 2010. It is now the new hottest learning toys for kids from ages 4 - 9 years old. There are only 18 games available for the explorer and soon it will be plenty of them as they create new one. There is a big difference between these 2. The main thing is that Leapster 2 games cartridges are not compatible with the Explorer. Therefore, if you have any Leapster 2 games it can't be used with the Explorer and vice versa.

The explorer has so much new great features. It is the fastest Leapster family series and it has a larger amount of internal memory at 512MB. The Explorer has a wider finger touch screen and a higher resolution that looks sharper. It also features an add-ons camera (sold separately) for children who love to take pictures.
It is capable of playing video on its much larger screen. Another good feature is the E-book reader so that your child can enjoy reading stories. It can be connected to your computer via USB port. You can download Leaplet Learning Apps into the LeapFrog Learning Path Application. You can connect it to online to play game through LeapWorld. It has an Interactive flash card for virtual on-screen tool for vocabulary, math and science. You can customize pet that can be uploaded online through the LeapWorld site.
